A couple of weeks ago, I saw this post from the Wall Street Journal Opinion section:

That’s not actually true.” And then your brain turns to thinking about all the songs in the pop/rock world (not to mention country and elsewhere) that are explicity about money and the love of money and the desire for wealth. And that’s where this show comes from.
Join Jeff and Scot for a romp through the world of greed. From rock stars dreaming of becoming millionaires to characters who steal, hustle, spend, and scheme their way to wealth, music has had plenty to say about money. We’re digging into songs about getting rich, making money, wanting money, and discovering what happens once you have it. Some are celebratory, some satirical, some cynical. And some are surprisingly straightforward about the pleasures of having a lot of cash.
We’ll look at the songs that challenge the argument that pop and rock musicians only sing about money to claim a preference for love.
